Phase 6 of 6

Phase 6: Strategy & Roadmap

From findings to action. Sequenced, measured, and communicated.

The assessment culminates in a transformation roadmap that translates findings into action. This roadmap must balance quick wins that build momentum with longer-term strategic investments.

Roadmap principles

Start with trust. Early actions should demonstrate the values espoused during the assessment.

Sequence matters. Some changes enable others. Invest in foundations before building superstructure.

Protect what works. The Strengths to Protect category isn't decorative — it's a guardrail.

Measure progress. Define leading indicators that show whether changes are working before the lagging indicators move.

Communicate relentlessly. Over-communication feels excessive to the person communicating. It feels barely adequate to the people affected.

Common focus areas

While every organization is different, certain areas emerge consistently:

Leadership team effectiveness — Building the cohesive team everything else depends on.

DevOps maturity — Improving the four key DORA metrics through practice and cultural change.

Stakeholder partnership — Closing perception gaps identified in Phase 2.

AI strategy — Governance, capability expansion, and organizational readiness.

Technical debt reduction — Strategic investment in platform health.

Measurement systems — Visibility that supports learning rather than blame.

The framework doesn't end at 90 days

The 90-day assessment establishes a baseline. Continuous improvement requires ongoing reassessment, stakeholder perception checks, and culture monitoring.
